Inspired by the Ospreys who have been nesting in Wareham at Carey’s Secret Garden, these majestic birds are one of only 300 breeding pairs in the UK. Ospreys were once widely distributed across the UK and Europe, but their population crashed due to persecution and loss from egg collectors. They became extinct in England in 1847, but have since been reintroduced to central England and Wales.
